Therapy is a fluid process where a client can gain awareness of their behaviors, move toward a more positive outlook, and gain the confidence to build desired habits. The integrative approach I use stems from Cognitive-behavioral therapy, Dialectical Behavior therapy, Motivational Interviewing, and Mindfulness. The foundation of my approach is client-centered: the client is the expert of their experience, and my role is to guide the process of identifying triggers and patterns to develop skills and solutions to help manage emotional distress. During therapy I work collaboratively with clients to find the most beneficial therapeutic approaches to meet the client’s needs, in light of their perspective and worldview. My philosophy centers on the idea that behaviors have an adaptive purpose, but certain behaviors may not be serving the client’s best interest at the present time.
I welcome individuals of all ages, races, religions, sexual orientations, gender identities and cultures, and I encourage people from all walks of life to begin the journey of improved well-being. It is an honor and privilege to serve in a collaborative manner to help improve the lives of others. A major theme of therapy is to understand each client’s concern in the context of their life experiences, values, and current circumstances. This theme evolves within a safe and nurturing environment where clients can explore their desired potential for growth. In addition to therapy, I provide diagnostic evaluations and testing for all clinical disorders with the use of cognitive and psychological assessment tools.
