As a mental health therapist, I focus on the strengths and skills that you bring to the therapeutic process, and help you refine and develop the tools of resilience and empowerment that bring positive and lasting change. Building strong coping skills through the process of therapy will help and support you in your pursuit of new goals and a more fulfilling life. Therapy can also address trauma and difficulties that all too often limit progress and growth when left unexamined. I take a client centered approach and aspire to facilitate your growth through your life journey.
My approach to therapy is flexible and eclectic. I am skilled in and employ a variety of therapeutic modalities including Cognitive Behavior Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Solution Focused Therapy, Mindfulness Approaches, and Play Therapy. I view the world through a spectrum of cultural awareness and sensitivity that includes generational patterns and environmental factors that build and mold the human experience.
As a Marriage and Family Therapist, I work with all ages, cultures, religious backgrounds, ethnicities, the LGBTQ+ community, and all other unique individual perspectives. Through my education in Family Science, I have experience treating individuals struggling with symptoms of depression and anxiety, difficulties regulating emotions, stress management and distress tolerance, trauma, interpersonal and relationship problems, communication difficulties, sexually and sexuality related difficulties, difficulties with focusing attention, concentrating and remembering information, procrastination, poor organization and transitional changes. I have been in the field as an addiction counselor for over a decade and bring that experience to the treatment of substance abuse and other addictions.
I am excited to work with those that are seeking guidance and support in their lives, and am prepared to provide resources and explore new approaches that bring positive change.
