Therapy provides a safe space for exploring challenges, developing strengths, gaining coping skills and coming to a better understanding of ourselves. It is about allowing us to share and process our experiences, emotions, beliefs and thoughts without fear of judgment.

Therapy is a team relationship. You are the expert of your own experiences and life. Often when experiencing struggles we can lose sight of our tremendous strengths and insight. My goal is to be your teammate and cheerleader. As the therapist, I am there to be a supportive, curious, compassionate and understanding. I believe in you and your ability to do the important work of healing and growing. Like a mirror, my goal is to provide reflection on patterns and themes that are getting in the way of your life and goals, while we work to reveal and strengthen your positive characteristics and talents that have been overlooked.

We all strive to do our best, and when provided with the right tools we return to a state of resilience and growth. This is particularly true of children. When children become stuck in negative patterns it is important to teach them coping skills and use creative tools to provide a safe space for processing their feelings. The parents in turn are provided with regular meetings to facilitate open communication and insight into their child’s challenges.

Because everyone has their own unique needs and challenges, it is important to use a wide range of tools to properly address the issues presented. The modalities and tools I use include directive and non-directive Play Therapy, Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART), Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Motivational Interviewing and Internal Family Systems Therapy (IFS). These tools are especially helpful for people experiencing depression, anxiety, trauma, adjustment disorders, eating disorders, drug/alcohol abuse, relationship issues, assertiveness/boundary issues, behavioral issues, self-esteem/self-worth concerns, perfectionism and struggles in adjusting to change. Because therapy is highly personalized, each client is invited to provide feedback, ask questions, and collaborate in the ongoing treatment plan.

I am a certified Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART) practitioner. ART is a brief evidence-based practice that is used for treating trauma, addictions, eating disorders, shame, attachment, self-esteem, relationships, ADHD, OCD, depression, anxiety, transitions, codependency, dyslexia, and more.

I work with children ages 6-17 and adults 18 and older. My practical experiences have allowed me to work with multiple ages, ethnicities, sexual orientations, beliefs, cultural backgrounds and genders including cis, trans, non-binary, gender fluid, etc. I also have experience working with individuals in both monogamous and polyamorous/ethical non-monogamy relationships. Everyone deserves a safe space to process, heal and grow. It would be my honor to provide that safe space for you.
