When changes happen in life, whether expected or unexpected, it can be jarring and difficult to process. As humans we all experience this. With the support of family, friends and our community we can often make our way through these situations and their aftermath. However, sometimes we get stuck and find it more difficult to “just move on.” I would like to work alongside you as you gain your own new insights and solutions to the issues that have you feeling stuck. You are your own expert, but sometimes it takes working with someone else to recognize and utilize your strengths and use them to your advantage.

I offer therapy for individuals from ages 14-60 and am happy to see clients from all walks of life, gender and/or sexual identities, cultural identities and socioeconomic statuses. I specialize in treating generalized anxiety, social anxiety, health anxiety, obsessive-compulsive disorder, adjustment disorders, trauma, and depression. Autism is also a specialty of mine, and I am happy to help with social skills work and assertive communication struggles while simultaneously celebrating the skills and talents that are unique to each person.

Evidence-based treatments such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Exposure and Response Prevention Therapy for obsessive-compulsive disorder and anxiety, Prolonged Exposure Therapy for trauma, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Solution Focused Therapy, and Dialectical Behavior Therapy are the main modalities and approaches I use with clients.

The Buddhist monk Thich Naht Hanh wrote: “Most people are afraid of suffering. But suffering is a kind of mud to help the lotus flower of happiness grow. There can be no lotus flower without the mud.” I am here to accompany you as you dig through the mud in order to grow your own lotus. If you are feeling stuck, let’s identify your internal resources, learn and practice new skills, and maintain a surer footing once you have found your own inner balance. Yes, it can involve difficult work for you, but it can also result in growth and a truer sense of meaning and purpose as you move through life and all the changes and challenges it offers. I look forward to working alongside you.
