Sam Johnson MSW LICSW
Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker

My approach to therapy is strength-based, client-centered, and trauma-informed. I strongly believe that treatment is most effective when it is collaborative, and clients are met where they are in their journey towards healing and recovery. I deeply respect client autonomy and believe your contributions to the approaches and solutions we develop to overcome the difficulties and challenges you face are vital. Together we will build a strong therapeutic alliance to address the struggles, transitions and stressors that are present in your life. I incorporate Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT), Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Psychoeducation (PE), Motivational Interviewing, Narrative Therapy, Guided Imagery, Mindfulness, and Grounding Techniques.
I work with adolescents and adults from all cultures, races, ethnicities, gender identities, sexual orientations, and socioeconomic statuses. I also work with individuals struggling with depression, anxiety, relationship issues, mood disorders, and life transitions and stressors. While I primarily work with individuals, I also have experience working with couples and families. In addition, I specialize in treating individuals with post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD).
