Elizabeth Royster - Stone Arch Psychology and Health Services

Life can bring challenges that may compromise an individual’s wellbeing and we may reach a point where our behaviors and habits no longer serve us yet we feel unsure about how to change. I combine relationship and trust building with evidence-based practice to provide a safe space for healing and growth. I aspire to take a genuine interest in clients and create an atmosphere of acceptance, kindness and validation. It is vital to reinforce clients’ strengths, encourage empowerment and build resilience so that they can and will be able to transform and transcend challenges. I am licensed as a marriage and family therapist and this perspective informs me on relationships, family, and attachment with individuals, couples, and families.

I enjoy working with individuals of all ages and walks of life including the LGBTQIAA+ community, individuals with physical challenges, multicultural backgrounds, all religious beliefs and affiliations, diverse gender identity, and all sexual orientations, and consider the importance of diversity and inclusion.

I enjoy supporting those who are navigating life transitions and periods of growth, using a variety of modalities to help facilitate that process. I have been trained in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Narrative therapy, Hypnosis, and Emotion Focused Therapy.  I am trained in Prepare and Enrich.  Areas of special focus in my practice include individuals who are struggling with symptoms of depression, anxiety and mood dysregulation, helping college students overcome academic challenges and life adjustment difficulties, and supporting individuals with mental health challenges associated with chronic pain and medical conditions, end of life issues and other psychiatric issues such as attention deficit disorder, I also provide risk and protective factors for burnout, compassion fatigue, trauma and working through grief and loss.

I invite you to talk with me to you to see if I would be a good fit to support you in this point on your journey. Together we can discover new and fulfilling opportunities to make life-transforming changes.
